Why this role is significant
The Facilities Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operations of the resort. This involves addressing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including routine preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and system monitoring. By proactively identifying and resolving issues before they escalate, the Facilities Technician helps to maintain the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our resort facilities. Your hands-on work behind the scenes directly supports the comfort, functionality, and overall guest experience that Brentwood Bay Resort is known for.
A day in the life
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and repair tasks
- Perform daily inspections of pools and hot tubs, ensuring proper sanitation and chemical balance
- Follow our internal ticketing system and complete tasks efficiently with clear documentation
- Troubleshoot and repair resort systems and equipment (e.g. plumbing, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, painting)
- Monitor and maintain heating, electrical, and ventilation systems across the property
- Support pest control, safety inspections, and emergency system checks
- Assist with grounds maintenance including landscaping, snow and debris removal from walkways and parking areas
- Coordinate with external contractors, ensuring quality control and safety compliance
- Identify and execute cost-effective solutions in day-to-day repairs and operations
- Address maintenance concerns reported by guests or team members
What we hope you'll bring to the team
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within hospitality or a resort setting
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, basic electrical systems, carpentry, and general repair procedures
- Strong attention to detail and time management to prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with safety standards, preventative maintenance procedures, and equipment use
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in various weather, and handle physically demanding tasks
- A team-oriented attitude with the confidence to work independently and make sound decisions on the fly
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute your unique strengths to a collaborative team environment
