Why this role is significant
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring all daily sales transactions are accurately completed and accounted for while overseeing resort operations throughout the night. This role requires strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve variances in cash-outs, floats, or sales reports. As the face of the resort during overnight hours, the Night Auditor assists guests in whatever capacity is required and ensures security and smooth operations.
This is a part-time opportunity, ideal for those available to work overnight on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
A day in the life
- Serve as the primary point of contact for overnight guest arrivals and departures
- Process check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and special requests using StayNTouch (PMS)
- Respond to guest needs and concerns with grace and efficiency, delivering a high level of personalized service
- Monitor resort security systems including cameras and alarms, conduct safety checks, and respond to overnight incidents
- Act as the primary contact for emergency response, coordinating with emergency services if required
- Perform end-of-day reconciliation across all sales outlets including rooms, spa, and dining
- Audit POS transactions, batch terminals, and balance all financial records accurately
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash-outs, floats, refunds, and adjustments
- Prepare and secure bank deposits and submit audit reports for departmental review
- Maintain detailed records of financial activity, highlighting variances or concerns
- Provide a clear and detailed handover to the morning team outlining any guest issues, incidents, or pending items
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and ready for morning operations
- Input operational data, update guest profiles, and maintain accurate records across systems
What we hope you'll bring to the team
- At least 1–2 years of experience in night audit, accounting, hotel front desk, or administrative roles
- Strong background in guest-facing or customer service environments
- Proficiency with property management (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Solid grasp of auditing procedures, cash handling, and financial reconciliation
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong numerical accuracy and analytical thinking
- Composed and confident under pressure, especially during overnight or emergency scenarios
- Clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently through the night
- Comfortable navigating shifting priorities and taking initiative to resolve issues
